5 out of 5 stars My favorite baby item!   August 26, 2010

Absolutely loved this. Worth every penny. My baby has been sleeping in this since he was 3 weeks old; he is now 12 weeks. The minute I wrap him off he starts nodding off and is out cold within five minutes. He loves it! He's been sleeping 7hr stretches since he was six weeks old, and I owe it all to this blanket! A must-have!

4 out of 5 stars Miracle Blanket - Baby Swaddling Blanket   August 26, 2010

It works well, but needs to have a few things to make it perfect. My daughter is only 4 months old and can bust out of it like the Hulk in a styrofoam building. I think the arm parts need something a little extra to keep the arms more down, maybe a button or a velcro connection. At any rate, it does do it's job, but it's frustrating that she keeps getting out, lol!

5 out of 5 stars Worth its weight in gold   August 25, 2010

This blanket helped my difficult-to-get-to-sleep baby take naps. When he was 5-6 weeks old, the only way to get him to nap was in a front carrier walking outside (which was exhausting). This blanket calmed him down enough so that he was able to take naps in a crib. It is very difficult to get out of - way better than velcro style blankets. We still use it for naps (he is now 4.5 months old), but leave his legs out of the pocket. We now have two - one for daycare and one for home, and I'm about to buy one to give as a gift (which is how we received our first blanket). Worth it for a baby who is a difficult sleeper!

3 out of 5 stars Works half the time   August 17, 2010

This blanket only works when our baby is already nodding off and ready to sleep. When he's crying and fussy we can get him swaddled correctly, but he won't calm down. When he's super fussy, he will work his arms partially out and get caught. Then, we have to try and reswaddle him over and over and over! When our baby is already tired and calm, we can get him in this super fast and without fuss and he'll sleep swaddled and will sleep for an extra hour longer.

Just be careful when swaddling with this to make sure the top of the cloth hits the shoulder directly, otherwise it will wiggle up towards his face when the baby moves.

This product works for us about half the time.

2 out of 5 stars Use something easier to swaddle your baby   July 27, 2010

Our baby won't sleep without being swaddled. She is now 5 months old. We have used everything out there, and this was our least favorite. After spending so much on it, I was disappointed that we only used it when every other swaddler we had was dirty.
Here's what I don't like:
1. It takes so long to get on. With a squirmy baby, she'll be out of it before you get done wrapping. It's really hard to wrap under the baby, and tuck here and there.
2. I don't like having her arms straight down where she can't move them at all. In the womb, she could move her arms.
3. The way the pouch is made, one side is lower than the other. She gets her leg out of the lower side consistently.

Our favorite swaddler by far is the Woombie. All you do is zip it up and snap the top, and you're done! And the baby can still move her arms and put them by her chest or whereever she wants, but it is tight enough that her hands can't bother her, and it is escape-proof. She can even suck on her fingers a bit through the fabric of the Woombie, which allows her to calm herself. This swaddler didn't even come close to the convenience and functionality of the Woombie. Unfortunately, the Woombie is almost as expensive as this. You could try the Swaddlepod first, which is similar to a Woombie but cheaper. I don't like it quite as much as the Woombie, but since it is only $10, it is worth a try.
