Great pool cover! August 24, 2010 David Frank (Temecula, CA) I went in buying this pool as just needing something for the hot summer we are locally having. The pool has been working like a dream. Easy setup; the only problem; water too hot. Bought this solar cover; worked perfectly. The pool was over 90 degrees and i had to throw ice in the pool to cool it down. I dealt with it!
Pool Cover August 24, 2010 J. A. Lambie It is kinda thin, not as thick as I thought it would be. It does warm the top 3" of water of the pool. It says it fits a 12' pool, but it is bigger than that and hangs over.
Works well...almost too well! August 18, 2010 Squeal (Los Angeles, CA) I got this cover for our Intex 12x33 metal frame pool because I wanted the water to be a little warmer. Well I got what I wanted - the first time we tried our pool after having this cover on, the water was a toasty 87 degrees (on a 73 degree day in California). That was a little too warm for me. I found that by leaving a small section of water uncovered in one area, that leaves that water cold and when mixed in with the rest, the pool becomes a comfortable temperature.
The cover (when completely spread out) also helps in keeping bugs and debris out of the pool. Keep in mind though that if you have a metal frame pool, the cover will not quite cover all the way to the edges so you can still get some debris in the water.
Overall, I do recommend this cover, but you may have to finagle with it if it gets your water too warm. And on really hot days, I would recommend leaving it off your pool altogether unless you want your pool to be like a hot tub.
Great product! August 12, 2010 Susan Clinton (rochester, ny) We use this every night and it is great for keeping leaves, bugs out of the pool.
kind of worth the money August 6, 2010 spacey Yes, it is cheaper here than from your local store, but it just floats on top of the water, still letting in leaves and bugs room to get under it (especially if the wind blows). The other covers which have string to secure it would be better, and there is no way it heated up the pool water more than without the cover. CMS is the worst part of this, they shipped this in 6 days, then I ordered the saltwater generator 17 days ago and still it has not shipped, though my card was charged, and they won't respond to any e-mails.
